Social Activities
Even though, at the present time, we are a small congregation, we enjoy group activities like the following:
Bird Watching and Nature: Interested members participate in organized, local birding outings, nature field trips, or other events at the at Bickelhaupt Arboretum, at Eagle Point Park or through the Clinton County Conservation Board.
Theater outings: We enjoy going to plays together on the Clinton Showboat, Timberlake Playhouse and Circa 21 Theatre.
Concerts: We have been known to car-pool on a moment's notice to go see shows in the Quad Cities at the iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois.
River Arts Center: Many of our members are involved with the local River Arts Center, 229 5th Avenue South, Clinton, IA 52732-4308, (563) 243-3300, as exhibitors and as volunteers, helping to keep the arts as vital forces in the community.
Clinton County Historical Society: Many of us are interested in history and genealogy and we often attend and support events that are sponsored by the Clinton County Historical Society.
Group Trips: We gather for special outings such as an eco-cruise on the Mississippi.
Fundraisers: Projects such as the UUF Spring Bazaar, raise money for our building capital improvement fund. These projects are not only important monetarily, but also are a source of much fun.
Many impromptu gatherings seem to happen in and around the UUF, not the least being our weekly social/discussion hour after our services. Come and join us for conversation and fellowship! We hope you will find a friend!
