March
7 - UU Source #4, Jewish and Christian Teachings
Last month we looked at
Source #3, wisdom
from the world's religions which inspires us in our ethical and
spiritual
life. This Sunday Linda Foster will
become more specific and look into our Judaic/Christian background, and
those
teachings which call us to respond to God’s love by loving our
neighbors as
ourselves. Even though Unitarian
Universalism is no longer considered a Christian religion, and was
never a
Jewish sect, here is no question but that
we have been heavily shaped by these two faiths. Come and share
your thoughts about your faith journey during discussion.

March 21 –
Finding the Sacred Feminine
<>
Despite
centuries of obliteration and the pervasive misogyny that still lingers
in our
culture, our language, our religious and spiritual traditions – and the
inequality still found in the socio-economic power structure – there is
an
enduring spirit that connects women’s experiences in powerful ways. The Sacred Feminine can be a religious or
spiritual
expression, but it can also be the loving acceptance of women’s bodies,
the
recognition of female imagery in all aspects of our culture, or the
embrace of
creativity in all its forms. Join us for
a special service during Women’s History Month, as Rev. Ruby Nancy draws
connections between the Sacred Feminine and the way we live as creative
people
(of all genders) in contemporary society. >
As
is customary, luncheon (catered by our own chef, Steven) and board
meeting will
follow, with everyone welcome.
