These women weren't! They fought for your right to vote.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE STRUGGLE FOR WOMEN'S RIGHTS:
-White men in most states could vote by the 1820s; not women.
-In 1850's, women's rights movement strengthened but was derailed by Civil War.
-The Seneca Falls Convention was convened in 1848 by Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott to discuss problems with women's rights.
-National Woman Suffrage Association was founded by Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony in 1869, working for a universal-suffrage amendment to the US Constitution.
Finally, on August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified.
